FAQ - Reflection - Remap the Number Pad Enter Key

Problem:

A client wants to remap their keyboard so that the enter key on the number pad works the same as the enter key on the QWERTY keyboard.

Solution:

How to remap the number pad Enter key in Reflection.

If you want to remove the current mapping and remap the enter key on the number pad. Here's how.



  1. The Keyboard Map Setup window will appear.
  2. A representation of a PC keyboard appears in the top section. We will refer to this as the PC keyboard.
  3. A Terminal keyboard representation appears on the bottom section which we will call Terminal keyboard.
  4. You will need to follow these instructions in the correct sequence or the mapping won't work.
  5. The EN key on the PC keyboard map corresponds to the enter key on your actual keyboard number pad.


  1. Clear the existing mapping.
    1. Click on the PC keyboard map number pad EN key.
    2. Click the Remove button.
    3. Click on the PC keyboards' normal enter key. (It displays as a back arrow here.)
    4. Click the Remove button.


  2. Map the desired key.
    1. Click on the Number pad EN (enter) key on the PC keyboard map.
    2. Click on the standard enter key on theTerminal (lower) keyboard map. (It displays as a back arrow here.)
    3. Click the MAP button.
    4. Test by clicking on the PC keyboard map number pad EN key


  3. Click OK to exit mapping window
  4. Click File
  5. Select Save (The file name may differ.)
  6. Restart Reflection
