Computer Center Student Employees jump-start their careers by gaining the experience many employers look for.
Technical, Customer Service, Troubleshooting, Technical Writing, and Teamwork are just some of the valuable skills student employees learn.
Student Employees learn to use and work with the latest versions of popular business software including Microsoft Office 2003, Windows XP, WordPerfect Office and more.
Learn how to repair and replace computer hardware. Learn how to produce Web documents using HTML. Learn how to provide technical support to clients both in person and over the telephone. Develop interpersonal skills by interacting with students, faculty, and staff across the entire campus.
Student Employees gain skills and learn to perform a wide variety of tasks, including: Software and software upgrades installation, hardware replacement and upgrade installation, software skills instruction, technical troubleshooting, application programming and Web development, and computer hardware and software restores. These are just some of the jobs the computer center has available for student employees.
Job openings frequently occur throughout the semester. All applications submitted for the given semester that meet minimum qualifications will be considered. Therefore, feel free to submit an application even if there aren't any current openings.Technical Support requires submission of a new application and availability schedule after each preregistration period, generally April and November.Note: More than half of the student positions within Technical Support are funded by the Federal College Work Study program.
